It gives only an imperfect impression of how the installation is supposed to be experienced as it cannot convey the spatial relationship between the characters, the landscape and the audience\u00a0(see <a title=\"installation\" href=\"https:\/\/ncvp.me\/echo\/simulation\/pilot\">here<\/a>).\u00a0 The dispersed large screens in the gallery create an immersive experience with surround sound.\u00a0 Please look at the <a title=\"installation\" href=\"https:\/\/ncvp.me\/installation\/\">Installation page<\/a>, where you will see stills and a walk through of the gallery event.\u00a0 The environment was dressed to create the experience of being in an ancient Greek olive grove \u2013 with six olive trees, and an entrance corridor lined with plinths containing bowls of lemons. To see Ben Morson&#8217;s designs for different layouts of the space, please look <a href=\"https:\/\/ncvp.me\/designs\/concept-drawings\/\">here<\/a>.\u00a0 For the screening, we cleared the rights for the stock footage and used the master shots (i.e. got rid of the identifying time code banners at the foot of the screens.\u00a0 Dai Shell produced a beautiful dubbed soundtrack and we also colour corrected the various screen movies.<\/p>\n<p>This Video represents the drama section of the installation up to the point where the audience makes a choice:<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/player.vimeo.com\/video\/126823539?title=0&amp;byline=0&amp;portrait=0\" width=\"600\" height=\"338\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>The five installation screens are mapped to the five tiles of the montage thus:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/ncvp.me\/echo\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/echo_sim_squashed.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"511\" height=\"100\" \/><\/p>\n<p>At the end of the drama (the above video), when Tiresias was urging the audience to choose an ending, viewers were able to select one of three endings below from a touch sensitive CHOICE SCREEN (see plates 6 &#8211; 8 of the <a title=\"installation\" href=\"https:\/\/ncvp.me\/installation\/\">Installation page<\/a>). The ending was triggered by the largest number of people touching the particular option. Other methods of audience involvement, such as voting with pebbles in amphorae, as in Ancient Greece, would be possible.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ending 1 \u2014 Leave Echo and Narcissus to their fates<\/strong><br \/>\nMan has no faith and no free will.
